Meet the Veterinarians & Team of Animal Eye Care of Richmond! We’re pleased to provide exceptional vet care for your pets!

Michael Blair, MS, DVM, Diplomate ACVO

Dr. Blair has owned and operated Animal Eye Care of Richmond since 1999.

He graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994 with honors. He then completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal and equine medicine and surgery at Michigan State University. After an internship, he completed a three-year residency in Comparative Ophthalmology at Purdue University.

Dr. Blair also has a BS in Pharmacy and an MS in Pharmacology, both from St. Johns University, and he was a practicing Clinical Pharmacist for 13 years before going to vet school.

He enjoys raising Scottish Deerhounds with his family.

Ann Bosiack, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVO

Dr. Bosiack joined Animal Eye Care in 2013 and became a partner in 2022.

She obtained her degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Missouri in 2009, graduating summa cum laude. She then completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. She returned to the University of Missouri for a residency in Comparative Ophthalmology and concurrently obtained her Master’s degree.

She enjoys horseback riding and spending time with her children.

Jonathan Hirsch, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVS

Dr. Hirsch has joined Animal Eye Care of Richmond to complete his three-year comparative ophthalmology residency in conjunction with the Animal Vision Center of Virginia in Virginia Beach. He has become an integral asset and a welcomed member of the Animal Eye Care family.

Dr. Hirsch grew up in Charlottesville and attended Randolph-Macon College before completing veterinary school at Virginia Tech. He completed a large animal surgical residency at UC Davis and is a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He comes to us with a significant amount of veterinary and surgical experience and has served as a staff surgeon for practices in California and Virginia for the past 12 years.

Dr. Hirsch enjoys running, going to the beach, and spending time with his family.

Taylor Belk, DVM

Dr. Taylor Belk joined Animal Eye Care of Richmond in the fall of 2022. She is originally from Georgia and attended the University of Georgia, where she obtained an undergraduate degree in Wildlife Sciences as well as her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Belk completed a small animal rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Here she found her passion for ophthalmology and finished her time in Boston by completing an ophthalmology specialty internship.

She moved to Virginia in 2018 to complete a three-year residency in Comparative Ophthalmology, allowing her to become board certified in Ophthalmology.

Dr. Belk and her husband look forward to planting their roots here in Richmond! She enjoys spending her free time trying new restaurants, cooking, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, bird-watching, and being with family.
